In bootcamp, under 100 load the CPU will not go above the 2.8GHz base clock. I am always reminded of a quote I heard years ago when it comes to situations like this - “You’re not meant to be the janitor of your Mac”. It’s great, and will give you a visual representation of how high your clock speed goes during anything you do. If you don’t already have it, I highly recommend downloading Intel Power Gadget. ![]() In general, turbo boosting improve a broad range of tasks, even something as simple as how quickly an app will open. So my recommendation here would be to run the setting where it automatically disables turbo boost on battery power (helps to get you through a long day of schooling/lectures) and then enables turbo boost when connected back to power.
